Our practice
What are some of the benefits of seeing a Naturopathic Doctor (ND)?
As a licensed naturopathic physician, Dr. Voves takes a whole body approach that addresses the root cause. She uses a variety of tools in addition to medications to help you feel better. She also focuses on functional medicine to optimize your health.
What kind of education to ND's have?
Naturopathic Doctors attend a four-year, accredited, graduate level naturopathic medical program and earn a doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine. During their training, NDs are educated in all the same biomedical sciences and pharmacology studies as an MD or DO, as well as cutting edge, evidence based natural therapies including clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, nutraceuticals (supplements), counseling, and physical medicine. Upon graduating, NDs are granted their license after passing the state board exams.

prescriptions and supplements
can you fill/refill my prescription?
Yes. Prescription drugs are one of the most powerful tools of modern medicine. They are critical healers in our toolkit, and we prescribe them regularly. Some medications, however, do require management by specialists, and are not appropriate for Meadows Health and Wellness to prescribe.
We do not typically prescribe controlled substances or scheduled medications (narcotics/opioids).

what is your approach towards supplements?
Supplements (like prescription drugs) are powerful tools to be taken seriously regarding safety, quality, effectiveness, and relevance. Like any drug, any supplement can have side effects, should be monitored carefully, evaluated for negative reactions, or stopped if not efficacious. Naturopathic doctors are trained in using specific, high-quality, safe-tested “professional grade” supplements that are third-party-validated and produced in GMP-certified facilities, as well as made by manufacturers that largely are only sold through licensed medical providers. The supplements we prescribe are indicated to work for the conditions they support. We are highly selective and cautious in prescribing supplements.
Can you manage chronic pain?
Yes. There are many modalities available to help minimize pain of chronic conditions and we aggressively work with patients to achieve adequate comfort. We generally have a cautious and conservative approach to using narcotic/opiate medications. We rarely use these controlled and potentially dangerous medications for acute pain, and we have a policy of not prescribing opiate or other controlled medications for chronic problems.
fees & Billing
Do you accept my health insurance?
No. By NOT accepting insurance, we are able to keep our membership fees affordable and ensure we have more time to spend on your actual care and not dealing with the administrative burden of health insurance.
Insurance may cover labs and imaging studies.

does insurance cover the cost of blood work?
Depends on your plan. Blood work can be billed to your insurance plan on file. The remaining cost can vary depending on your insurance plan type and benefits, such as copayment, deductible, and out-of-pocket maximum. If you are using insurance for your blood work, we are unable to provide a cash estimate for the remaining out-of-pocket costs. To learn how to better understand your coverage before moving forward with any testing, we suggest speaking with a representative from your insurance plan directly.
If you do not have insurance or do not wish to use insurance, we offer excellent cash pricing and can give you an estimated cost prior to obtaining blood work.

what are the costs associated with advanced testing
We offer testing options that go far beyond the basic blood panel you might receive at a typical primary care physician’s office. As well as offering comprehensive blood testing (which is completed at our office or a local lab facility such as Quest), we also offer specialty tests, which assess for food sensitivities/allergies, hormones, cortisol, gut health, mold, toxic metals, and genetics, which could include blood, saliva, urine, and stool testing.
The majority of specialty testing is billed directly to you as an individual rather than through insurance. However, many of these tests can be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement or paid for using FSA/HSA funds. Since this testing does not typically go through insurance, we can provide you with these upfront costs. Specialty tests generally range between $100-$400.
