Professional Biography:
Dr. April Voves is a licensed Naturopathic Physician providing high quality, individualized, evidence informed medicine using both conventional and alternative therapies. She completed a four-year, accredited, graduate level naturopathic medical degree at the National University of Naturopathic Medicine. Her undergraduate degree is from Oregon State University in Nutrition Science. Outside of her private practice Dr. Voves volunteers at Borland Free Clinic and is a proud member of the Wilsonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
My Story:
My interest in health and medicine started in childhood, particularly with nutrition. I went on to study nutrition in college and became fascinated with the human body and eagerly wanted to dive into all aspects of human health. As I began to pursue a career in medicine, I worked in various conventional medical settings, but it never felt like the right fit. I discovered naturopathic medicine through my own health journey and I immediately knew this was the career for me. I received tremendous benefit from naturopathic medicine for my acne, depression, and abdominal pain after conventional medicine left me frustrated and hopeless.
I believe in working with my patients to address both the symptoms and the underlying cause of their condition, optimizing their health, and preventing disease. I use a variety of treatments including nutritional supplements, pharmaceuticals, herbal medicine, and nutrition and lifestyle considerations. My office is a comfortable environment and visits are scheduled to allow ample time for patients to share their story. My treatment plans are customized and tailored for each person. If my specific services aren’t quite enough or a specialist is needed, I gladly collaborate with a broad spectrum of medical providers, offering my patients completely integrative care.
I am genuinely pleased to be providing naturopathic care and primary care and look forward to getting to know you and your family.
Practice Focus:
I have a special focus and have successfully treated women’s health concerns and digestive issues among other issues that often fall through the cracks of conventional medicine.
I help over scheduled women achieve better health and happiness despite being told “everything is normal.” Women juggle so much these days with their careers, children, partners, and households all while trying to fit into a society that puts so much pressure on us to be perfect super humans. I know what this is like myself as a mother, wife, doctor, and business owner and have had my own struggles with anxiety, stress, guilt, and unhappiness that I have healed through naturopathic medicine. I believe stress affects women differently and many are not getting the help they need and deserve to stay healthy and happy. I’m passionate about helping women resolve the underlying issues that cause daily health struggles so they can feel balanced and energized again!
I also help patients uncover the root cause of their digestive issues despite being told "everything is normal" or for those not wanting to cover their symptoms with medications. The gut is a complex system and my comprehensive gut evaluations address the cause and improve symptoms so patients can enjoy symptom free digestion and a varied diet!
In addition, I help patients who are not getting the answers they deserve from conventional medicine. The average conventional medicine visit is 7 minutes; what can really be accomplished in this time? Visits with me are scheduled to allow for ample time to discuss your health concerns while treating you as a whole person and digging deeper to get to the root cause of your issues.

Personal life:
My happy place (and total guilty pleasure!) is floating on the lake on a hot summer day! My daily reality includes a wonderful, supportive husband who always incorporates laughter and play into our lives. We have two young boys who continually inspire us to be better people and keep us active, motivated, and on our toes!
If I come across some spare time, you’ll likely find me listening to a podcast, reading, or getting in a few miles on the treadmill.
